College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition
- Students should review the information below and sent by The Graduate School for details about the 3MT competition requirements.
- Questions about the CFAES 3MT competition can be sent to the Graduate Education Progam Manager, Kayla Kruse at kruse.231@osu.edu.
- CFAES students can submit their registration and video entry through the below Qualtrics link by Friday, January 10 at 11:59pm. Winners will be notified by January 17.
The college competition will be virtual. A recording of the finalist’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) video clip submission and 1 PowerPoint slide should be upload to OneDrive and they should provide a link in the Qualtrics application.

- Make sure the shared link is set to be shared so it is viewable by anyone with the link.

- Submissions will be reviewed by a selection committee and the college's top nominee will be advanced to The Graduate School competition on or before January 23, 2025.
- The Graduate School will select the institutional nominee during their in-person 3MT competition on February 5, 2025.
- The Ohio State University finalist will be advancing to the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition in Indianapolis, Ind., from April 2-4, 2025.
The Office for Research and Graduate Education will provide a grant to the top three competition awardees, transferred to their home department to be used for research and/or professional development:
- First place: $300 (and will advance to University competition as CFAES nominee):
- Second place: $200
- Third place: $100
