Graduate training develops far more than research expertise, but many students wonder how to apply those skills outside the traditional faculty track. This workshop will highlight the career journey of Jay Dahlman, an Associate Director of Licensing at Ohio State, who pivoted from bench research to technology transfer. By sharing his story, attendees will learn about technology transfer, see how academic research is commercialized, and reflect on why scientists are uniquely positioned for this work.
