In this presentation we will explore contemporary issues in qualitative research that doctoral students should know. While qualitative researchers are “interested in understanding the meaning people have constructed”, this presentation will explore how research becomes me-search. The presenter will share stories as a way of knowing that can create both power and art of possibilities to reimagine and think about me-search in qualitative research.
About the Presenter:
Cristobal Salinas Jr., Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Educational Leadership and Research Methodology Department at Florida Atlantic University. His research promotes access and equality in higher education and explores the social and political context of education opportunities for historically marginalized communities. Dr. Salinas is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief for the Journal Committed to Social Change on Race and Ethnicity. His research has been featured in CNN, CNN Español, NPR, and Good Morning America.
