    This workshop will address how to write vitae and cover letters when searching for jobs in academia. Importance will be placed on format and content while highlighting career tips useful when applying for positions with a teaching and/or research emphasis.

    Join OUAB for OUAB in the Kitchen: At-Home Edition: International Plant-Based Cooking for a chance to cook a meal of your own under the guidance of the Union's own professional chef, Chef Wolf. Following a cooking demonstration by the chef, students will create the menu providing a unique hands-on learning opportunity virtually, from the comfort of their own home. In this fun and interactive environment students will enjoy a delicious meal and gain useful culinary skills to show off in their own kitchens.

    Wednesday, October 14th, 7-8pm: Denise Ellsworth from The Ohio State University will help us understand the local bee species and how we can contribute to scientific knowledge about these species in a talk entitled “Becoming a Community Scientist (& a Better Naturalist): How You Can Help Bees and Other Pollinators”.

    A talk in the series Cultural Connections:  “Where Culture Meets Agriculture”  Carlos has a PhD in agronomy from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He is working with soybean pathogens in linkage and QTL mapping. He has worked in several crops such as roses, potatoes, oil palm, coffee, wheat, and soybean.  He will present information about the most significant crops planted in Ecuador, the beauty of the “enchanted islands” Galapagos, and the risk of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense Tropical Race 4.

    Come meet some of your fellow CFAES graduate students! At this event we will provide a virtual opportunity to meet fellow graduate students and interact with some various support staff who work closely with graduate students. This is a great chance to virtually meet (or catch up with) some of your colleagues whether you are new or returning student. The event will be casual: join when you can, leave when you want to! Feel free to have food or drinks, and all pets are always welcome.
