Would you like to gain experience collaborating with graduate students and administrators across the college? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please consider applying to be a part of the inaugural CFAES Graduate Student Advisory Committee (GSAC)!
GSAC was formed in January 2020 at the Dean's request for a committee to represent graduate students in CFAES (see our webpage for more information). Our bylaws were developed in the spring and ratified in April 2020. We are looking to add representatives from across the college in the following programs:
Columbus
- Animal Sciences
- OSU Nutrition
- Plant Pathology
- School of Environment and Natural Resources
- Horticulture and Crop Sciences
Agricultural, Environmental, and Developmental Economics - Masters of Environment and Natural Resources
- Masters of Applied Economics
- Masters of Plant Health Management
Wooster
- Food, Agriculture, and Biological Engineering
- Horticulture and Crop Sciences
GSAC members will represent their peers and help to advise administration on graduate student issues, increase communications among graduate students, organize events, and facilitate interactions across CFAES departments and campuses. In terms of a time commitment, we ask that each masters student applicant be willing to serve 2 semesters + summer meeting(s) and each PhD student applicant be willing to serve 4 semesters + summer meeting(s). Additionally, plan to spend 4-6 hours per month on GSAC related meetings and work.
